EP5347 - Thinner (Lower Viscosity) version of EP3545

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: EP5314 is a two component, room temperature curing, rigid, unfilled system with moderate viscosity. The long pot life means that less time is spent in batching and mixing. This makes EP5314 particularly attractive in electrical potting, adhesive applications or casting up to ¾" thick. EP5314 is unusual in that it will cure in the presence of moisture and will form an excellent bond between old concrete and a fresh pour. This system can also be mixed with 6 to 8 volumes of silica sand to produce a floor topping compound that can withstand chemical attack and daily steam cleaning. Great for repairing concrete and cement sidewalks or stairs.

SUPERIOR PHYSICAL PROPERTIES: This system offers reliable physical properties. Upon full cure, EP5314 has higher tensile and compressive strength and better chemical resistance than most other epoxy systems. In addition it has a lower odor.

CURING UNDER WET CONDITIONS: In one recent demo, two bricks were left in a bucket of water overnight. They were then removed and patted down with a dry cloth. EP5314 was liberally applied to one brick and the second was pressed against it. The bricks were then carefully placed back in the bucket of water. Within a few hours, the bricks had a strong bond through the eopxy. This shows the versatility of EP5314 as an epoxy which will cure under the wettest conditions and create strong bonds between wet surfaces.

Recommended mix ratio is 3 parts of A with 1 part of B, by weight. This provides a 50 minute pot life, and a 24 hour cure time at room temperature. Maximum properties are obtained after a 2-hour post-cure at 212°F. Pot life and cure time will vary depending on temperature, humidity and casting thickness. The resultant unreinforced plastic has these properties:

Mix Ratio, by weight: 3A : 1B
Pot Life: 50 minutes
Viscosity, mixed: 4,000 cps
Specific Gravity: 1.11
Hardness (durometer): 86 D
Shrinkage: 1.4%
Max. Use Temperature: 160°F (59°C)
Dielectric Constant: 3.97
Volume Resistivity: 1.0 x 1015 Ohm/cm
Moisture Absorption: 0.17 %
Tensile Strength: 8,900 psi
Compressive Strength: 13,200 psi
Flexural Strength: 16,600 psi
Cured Color: Clear Amber
