Cold Casting Metal Parts

First, on the inside of your clean empty mold, take one our of our epoxies EP5340 or EP5347. Load it with bronze, brass, copper or aluminum powder, and brush 0.25" coating on the inside of this mold. After this coating has set up you have four options to fill the remaining space with:

1. An inexpensive casting plastic such as our EP9801 urethane.
2. EP9801 loaded with a lightweight filler such as fillite to cut costs.
3. EP9801 loaded with Iron powder. Adding iron powder is the least expensive way to add weight to a cold casting.
4. Line the inside of the mold with fiberglass to give support to the casting. Put a base on the bottom of the casting to close up the inside.

When removed from the mold, the surface of the casting can be polished and buffed to a glossy finish.
