Epoxy for Laminating Carbon Fiber, Graphite Fiber, Kevlar

One common composite uses glass fiber cloth or mat impregnated with polyester resin. This is what is known as fiberglass and is sufficient for boating and automobiles due to the relatively good strength and low cost.

However, where extremely high-strength composites must be made light-weight, carbon fiber, graphite fiber or Kevlar must be used with a laminating resin. For several chemical and mechanical reasons, polyester resin is a poor choice. Epoxy systems are much better suited for lay-up of the carbon, graphite or Kevlar fabric. Eager Plastics' high-strength epoxy laminating resins such as EP5340 or EP5312 have been used in numerous applications such as model plane design, motorcycle and car repair, etc.
