Pliogrip® 7779 Two-part Urethane Adhesive


GENERAL DESCRIPTION: PLIOGRIP® 7779 is a 100% solid (solventless) two-component urethane adhesive supplied in ready-to-use cartridges. This fast-setting adheisve has been successul in bonding the following materials where strong structural bonds must be formed: reinforced thermosetting composites (including SMC, RTM and SRIM), open-molded and pultruded fiberglass-reinforced plastics, treated metals, selected thermoplastic alloys, thermoplastics, metals and other substrates. Pliogrip® 7779 cures quickly at room temperature, sands and paints well, and has a long shelf life.

This epoxy adhesive has been engineered for high-temperature resistance, making it a perfect design choice for durable metal/metal performance. This product line meets the demanding vibration and road-stress requirements of the truck collision-repair industry.

INDUSTRIES: Pliogrip® 7779 has been used in a wide variety of industries such as automotive; truck; aerospace; sporting goods; construction; marine; farm equipment; military equipment; recreational vehicle; personal water craft; and HVAC equipment. Pliogrip® is also used by many OEMs on cars and trucks: GM, Ford, Chrysler, BMW, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Toyota, AM General, Cummins, Freightliner, Kenworth, Mack, Navistar, Peterbilt.

APPLICATIONS: Can also be used to seal thermoset and thermoplastic composites.

TO USE: The adhesive and activator are mixed in static mixing tubes upon dispensing. Hand held manual or pneumatic dispensing guns are available from Eager Plastics. The system chemically cures at room temperature and can be accelerated through the addition of heat. Pliogrip® has a working time of 15 minutes, a clamp time of 30 minutes and a sanding time of 1 hour.
